The Micah Challenge summons Christians around the World to join in the work of halving extreme poverty by 2015.

12 billion people live on less than $1.25 a day.

In 2000, World leaders agreed their nations should work together to reduce extreme poverty by 50% by the year 2015.

Christians, I believe are called to be committed to the poor.  We are called to look outside ourselves.  We are to be a light in the darkness.  Too often, I believe, we get hung up by politics, fear of government, and labels such as Democrat and Republican.  We are more powerful when we stand together.
